Times continues its Black History Month celebration with an hour-long broadcast dedicated to

electric guitar pioneer Charlie Christian (1916–1942). A spirited and virtuosic instrumentalist,

Christian played alongside Swing-era greats Benny Goodman, Lionel Hampton, Harry James,

and Benny Carter. Featured recordings include “Flying Home,” “Honeysuckle Rose,” “Air Mail

Special,” and “Wholly Cats.”
