This week’s edition of Music For End Times revisits Cream’s landmark 1967 release Disraeli
Gears. For aficionados of vintage psychedelia and blues rock, the famed trio, featuring Jack
Bruce (bass), Ginger Baker (drums), and Eric Clapton (guitar) remains a cultural touchstone, and
a blueprint for subsequent “Super Groups.” The Cream are joined by The Shangri-Las, King
Curtis, Tom Waits, and Dengue Fever, among others. Featured tracks include “Dance the Night
Away,” “Tales of Brave Ulysses,” “Strange Brew,” and “We’re Going Wrong.”
