Music For End Times celebrates Black History Month with hour-long broadcasts featuring

celebrated African-American artists and performers. The festivities begin with piano virtuoso

Bud Powell (1924-1966). A leading figure in the post-war bebop movement, Powell played

alongside jazz greats including Charlie Parker, Max Roach, Dizzy Gillespie, and Charles Mingus.

The broadcast features some of Powell’s best known work including “Bouncing With Bud,”

“Embraceable You,” “Now’s the Time,” and “Autumn in New York.”
